Linda Lake returns to Metropolis and threatens to expose Clark's secret unless he promises to give her exclusive information on the red-blue blur so she can become a star reporter again. Refusing to be blackmailed, Clark tells Lois his secret and asks her to write his story for The Daily Planet.

Recap:
It's rainy and gray as we peer down over the city of Metropolis, with the Luthorcorp building on the right and the Daily Planet building smack in the middle. Down on the streets, a soaked and panting Lois gets out of a yellow cab, struggling with a giant blue suitcase and a smaller carry-on. Symbolism for all her emotional baggage? Probably not. As the cab drives off, it splashes her with water and she shouts sarcastically, "Great! Thank you! Nice to be back!" Hope that did something for you, Lois, because no way that guy heard you.
She then directs her ire at Clark, who's just showed up behind her with one of those superspeed whooshy sounds off-screen. She complains that he's just now showing up. "The one time I actually depend on you and you flake on picking me up from the airport," she says. He politely doesn't point out all the other times she's depended on him and instead apologizes as she complains about having to stand for three hours in a downpour, watching other people's curbside reunions.
Why the hell didn't she wait inside? I know I usually feel kind of grungy after traveling, but taking a shower in the rain is just extreme. One of her bags pops open, spilling out some clothes, which she gathers up with exasperation from the rainy street. Clark tries to explain, but Lois goes on about how he emailed her the night before to say he'd be there, and how she needs to tie a string around his finger to remind him. Clark says he got held up at work (code for running around saving people), but Lois points out he's a reporter: "You're not saving the world." You know, I can see how Clark would seem dickish here to someone who doesn't know the whole story, but he is trying to explain.
Plus, again, no one made you stand outside in the rain, Lois. He apologizes once more, but she cuts him off with a passive-aggressive zinger about how she doesn't expect to be the person at the top of his priority list. She goes inside. Sad orchestral music. Sad Clark face.

Actress Natasha Richardson Dies at 45

Another tragedy hit the Entertainment industry and now in Hollywood, Natasha Richardson, age 45 died from bleeding in her skull caused by the fall she took on a ski slope.
The Tony-winning actress suffered from an epidural hematoma, which causes bleeding between the skull and the brain's covering, said Ellen Borakove, a spokeswoman for the New York City medical examiner's office

Such bleeding is often caused by a skull fracture, and it can quickly produce a blood clot that puts pressure on the brain. That pressure can force the brain downward, pressing on the brain stem that controls breathing and other vital functions.
She gave several memorable stage performances, more than living up to some of the theater's most famous roles: Sally Bowles of "Cabaret," Blanche DuBois of "A Streetcar Named Desire" and the title character of Eugene O'Neill's "Anna Christie," a 1993 revival in which she co-starred with future husband Liam Neeson. (They have two sons: Micheal, 13, and Daniel, 12.)
Her final feature film, "Wild Child," has been released internationally but has not been released in the U.S., and Universal Pictures said one had not been scheduled.

Declaring Bankruptcy: Its Benefits

Nowadays, declaring bankruptcy are a common thing among business owners and individuals. It may carry a nasty cultural stigma, it may be a very positive choice for a number of indebted individuals to help them lighten their financial burden.

7 Possible Benefits of Bankruptcy

1. Allows for the "discharge" of most, if not all of your debts. This means that you are no longer legally obligated to pay the debts.

2. Prevents property from being repossessed, or it may require creditors to return property that was repossessed.

3. Stops the collection process. This means that creditors must stop attempting to collect on the debts.

4. Prevents you from having your utilities cut off, or if they are cut off, requires the utility company to restore service.

5. Stops/Prevents wage garnishment.

6. Halts the foreclosure process and gives you time to catch up on payments. This means you will not necessarily lose your house or mobile home.

7. Gives you the opportunity to dispute false claims from creditors who may be trying to collect more than what it owed to them.

While bankruptcy will allow for the discharge of a number of debts, others remain non-dischargeable according to federal regulation. Non-dischargeable debts include family support, student loans, certain types of taxes, and criminal fines. They are due to world financil crisis that we are experiencing these days.

How to Beat the Summer Heat?

March is the start of summer months in the Philippines and during this time people go to beaches, malls, and out of town to lessen the effect of summer heat.

There are other ways to keep your cool as you take advantage of the clear days that come with the summer months. Here are some ways to keep yourself refreshed:

1. Hydrate. Drink plenty of water! Always drink water even if your not thirsty to replenish the fluid you lose when you sweat.

2. Feast on "cooling" foods. Vegetables and fruits are sweeter during summer months plus they contain almost 90% water.

3. Spritz around. Always carry a small spritzer filled with cold water wherever you go. Sprinkle a little mist on your wrist, face or neck when it gets too hot. It will constantly cool you off!

4. Wear loose-fitting clothes. Loose fitting clothes allows air to circulate, keeping you fresher and definitely less sweaty.

5. Slather on Sunscreen. Use a sunblock with an SPF factor of 15 or higher and prevent the harmful UVA and UVB rays from damaging your skin and causing dryness and premature wrinkles.

6. Wear sunglasses. Ultraviolet rays can also be harmful to the eyes and affect vision, so the eyes need equal protection.

Have an enjoyable summer with your family, friends and love ones...

Germany: Teen Killing 15 before taking his own life

Pupils place flowers and candles in front of the Albertville school in Winnenden near Stuttgart, southern Germany.

A 17-year-old wielding a Beretta 9 mm pistol burst into classrooms at his former high school Wednesday and gunned down students — some of whom died with their pencils still in hand — in a rampage that ended with 15 dead before he took his own life, authorities said.

There was no immediate indication of motive, but the gunman's victims were primarily female: eight of nine students killed were girls, and all three teachers were women. Three men were killed later as the suspect, identified by police as Tim K., fled.

"I heard two shots and then screaming," said a 15-year-old student who gave her name only as Betty. "At first I thought it was a joke, but then someone called 'Run, run!' and I saw students jumping out of the windows and took off running."

The gunman — dressed in all black — took students in the first classroom completely by surprise, evidenced by the morbid scene that awaited the first officers to arrive, said regional police director Ralf Michelfelder.

"Children were sitting at their tables, with pencils still in their hands, their heads fallen over on the table," he said. "Most of them had shots in their head — it must have all happened in seconds."

The dark-haired teen, shown wearing glasses in pictures on German television, apparently took the weapon from his father's collection of 16 firearms along with a "multitude of ammunition," police said. His father was a member of the local gun club and kept the weapons locked away except for the pistol, which was kept in the bedroom.

A sister of the suspect attends the school.

Police received an emergency call from the school at 9:33 a.m. The first officers responded about two minutes later, said Baden Wuerttemburg state interior minister Heribert Rech. They heard shots on the second floor and ran upstairs, catching a glimpse of the suspect on a staircase, Rech said.

He fired a shot at the police and then fled, killing his last victims in the school — two teachers — on his way out, Rech said.

"Our officers were very quick," Rech said. "Through the immediate police intervention they were able to prevent a further escalation of the crime."

After fleeing the school, the suspect ran into downtown Winnenden, a town of 28,000, where he shot two people walking by a psychiatric clinic, killing one and wounding the other, police said.

The gunman then hijacked a car and forced the driver to head south while threatening his life from the back seat, triggering a land and air manhunt involving 700 police officers and four helicopters, according to Stuttgart prosecutors.

The driver swerved off the road to avoid a police checkpoint and managed to escape, while the suspect fled from the car into an industrial area in the town of Wendlingen, about 24 miles (40 kilometers) from Winnenden.

He entered a car dealership, where he shot and killed his final victims — a salesman and a man shopping for a car — and then went back outside, prosecutors said.

He opened fire on police swarming the area, who shot back and hit the suspect, who fell wounded to the ground, Michelfelder said.

But he got back up, reloaded his weapon, and fled into what turned out to be a dead-end street. Police found him there dead, having apparently shot himself in the head.

Two police officers suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

The death toll was close to that of Germany's worst school shooting.

German Chancellor Angel Merkel called the shooting "a horrific crime."

"It is hard to put into words what happened today, but our sadness and sympathy goes out to the victims' families," Merkel said.

The European Parliament, meeting in Strasbourg, France, stood in silence for a minute, to honor the victims.

"It is our task as responsible politicians in the European Union and, indeed, all the member states to do our utmost that such deeds can be prevented," said EU assembly president Hans-Gert Pottering, a German.

Parental Advice for First Time Moms

As first time mom, this article is very helpful to me that's why I posted it here. I would just like to add that a mother's instinct is still very effective in raising your kids.
by Betsy Shaw
"While I wouldn’t go so far as to call myself wise, I can’t help notice how my, uh, attitude priorities perspective regarding parenting has changed over time. While I was often a hopeless worry wart with my first daughter, I’m more of a hakuna matata mom with my second.
If anything, I’ve learned the importance of self preservation. With my first daughter, I was quick, too quick, to put her needs before mine. My arms could be falling off and I could be famished, but I couldn’t seem to figure out how to put her down while I rested and ate. Putting her down meant hearing her cry.
And hearing her cry meant I was doing something wrong. Right? Wrong.
One of the most enlightening things it took me a while to learn (are you ready for this?) is that children, no matter how tiny they are, are human beings; emotional, irrational, passionate, compulsive human beings. Just like us. Who knew?
Anyway… here is my earth shattering list of things I wish I had known sooner than later:
1. Babies often cry themselves to sleep: If I had a dollar for every minute of my life lost by shaking a toy in my infant daughter’s face or pacing the floor with her, rather than putting her down and letting her fall asleep, I would have a good start on my kids’ college fund.
2. Babies cry sometimes for no reason at all and there’s nothing you can do about it: It doesn’t mean you’re unfit for motherhood, or lacking the right motherhood gene. It is what it is.
3. Kids cry out and make noises in their sleep, but that doesn’t mean they’re awake: If you run to their crib to rescue them every time you hear a noise, you risk curtailing a much needed nap. How many times did I do this with my firstborn? I’m not telling.
4. Little kids can be strong willed, stubborn and have an alarming capacity for anger: Relax. Don’t panic. It doesn’t mean they will grow up to be sociopaths so much as it means they are human. Oh the stress I endured believing it wasn’t “normal” for a child to be angry. Duh.
5. Hitting is a natural human response to frustration: Most of us grow out of it eventually.
6. Saying “go away” or “I don’t like you” is a rite of passage for toddlers: Take it personally and you’re a goner.
7. It’s okay to put your baby/toddler down, even if she cries or whines: I have nothing more to say about this. (Dealing with the whining is something I’m still working on.)
8. Never underestimate the power of a snack and a nap: Recognizing when my kids are tired or hungry is possibly the most important skill I’m still working on I’ve mastered."

UN: World Population to Hit 12 Billion by 2012

UNITED NATIONS- As per report of the UN last Wednesday, the World's population will hit 7 billion by 2012 and top 9 billion in 2050, with the vast majority of increase coming from developing countries in Asia and Africa.

"We are still projecting that by 2050 the population of the world will be around 9.1 billion," says Hania Zlotnik, director of the UN Population Divisioin in a news conference. "The projections are based on the assumption that fertility that is now around 2.56 children per woman is going to decline to about 2.02 children per woman in the world." " there have been no big changes" from the previous estimate in 2006.

Zlotnik said if fertility remained about where it is now, then world population would reach 10.5 billion by 2050. If fertility fell even more than expected, to about 1.5, then the population would only increase to 8 billion by mid-century, she said.

Population growth will remain concentrated in the most populous countries through 2050. Nine nations are expected to account for half the projected increase: India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ethiopia, the U.S., Congo, Tanzania, China and Bangladesh, the report said.

While Russia, Japan, Italy, South Korea, Cuba, Ukraine, and many other countries that were once part of the Soviet Union are expected to decline at least 10 percent over the same period, U. N. said.

7 Practices to Love your Body

7 Practices to Love your Body

How do you create a healthy body and a healthy body image? Self-care is the catalyst to change. Love in action, it transforms body, mind, and spirit. The same habits that help you create a positive body image also help you eliminate self-destructive behaviors like overeating, dieting, and food addiction.

7 Self-Care Practices for Loving Your Body:

1. Nurturing.
Rest your body when it’s tired; feed it when it’s hungry; stop eating when you’re full. Likewise, feed your spirit with solitude, friendship, loving relationships, and joy -- healthy forms of nurturing -- so that you aren’t comforting yourself with destructive nurturing.

2. Grounding.
Balance nurturing with loving discipline. Ground yourself with structure, routines and healthy habits. Sometimes loving ourselves means setting boundaries and saying, “No.”

3. Authenticity.
Be honest and real: use your body to express your personality and personal style. Likewise, don't use your body to voice what you need to speak up for in your life. Find ways to express yourself without turning to your body, your appearance, or food.

4. Compassion.
The media triggers a negative body image in women because it creates unrealistic, perfectionist expectations. Compassion is creating realistic expectations for your body, accepting the ebb and flow of our health and appearance. Likewise, replace your inner critic -- “I’m such a fat cow” -- with a gentle, nurturing inner voice.

5. Trust.
Health, beauty and our bodies are dynamic, ever changing. Self-care is not about following a check list or overcontrol. Rather, learn to trust yourself about what to eat and how to care for your body as your needs or circumstances change.

6. Openheartedness.
Let yourself be beautiful; enjoy feeling feminine, pretty, and sexy. Likewise, let other women be beautiful, too; life's not a beauty pageant. Instead of feeling threatened by other women, embrace them with an open heart, giving them the same acceptance that you give yourself.

7. Grace.
Feed your spirit. Embrace your body as a unique expression of your divinity. Connect your beauty with your spirituality, making loving your body a spiritual practice.

EAT Your Heart Out! 10 Tips on Freedom of Eating

Would you like to find peace from emotional eating? Are you happy with the food you choose to eat? Even if you are not perfect with your food choices, do you feel free to make your own selection of food?

Here are 10 tips that can help us overcome overeating:

1. Embrace your stuff.
Overeating, food addiction and a negative body image are some of your life issues. Embrace them.

2. Unravel your overeating hairball.
Food is the cure, your attempt to care for yourself, albeit in a harmful way.

3. Ask for help.
There is a world of help out there: so many fabulous authors and books. I believe we live in a benevolent universe, and that if you ask for help, all kinds of resources will come to your aid. Read. Join a support group. Reach out to others. While you’re at it, ask other women for help, too.

4. You are not your thoughts.
If your mind tells you you’re fat, you don’t have to believe it. If your mind tells you that you can’t live without a cookie, you don’t have to believe it, either. A thought is just a thought. It doesn’t mean it’s true.

5. Examine your fear.
Try this exercise: Put your hand on your heart, close your eyes, and breathe deeply for several breaths. Now ask yourself these questions: What would I do if I was not afraid? What am I afraid of? Where do I feel fear in my body? I’ve asked myself these questions consistently for a couple years, and have been amazed at the answers.

6. Accept your limitations.
All choices have consequences.

7. Plan for your success.
Success is a commitment.

8. Start where you are.
You can start over, at any time. Forgive yourself and move forward, instead of trying to solve yesterday's problems with unkindness, such as trying not to eat in order to "make up" for the previous day's binge.

9. Practice exquisite self care.
Pamper yourself like a queen. Buy yourself flowers. Groom yourself impeccably. Paint your nails. Do whatever makes your heart sing, but do it regularly. Feed your spirit with self care, and your body’s hungers won’t be so demanding.

10. Eat.
You can't fight biology. You are an animal: you have to eat. Our bodies need healthy fuel. Undereating feels terrible; it's been likened to breathing through a straw. At some point, your body will need to take a deep breath.
The irony is that by feeding yourself regularly and by removing your addictive foods you will be less inclined to overeat. And guess what? You’ll probably lose weight: the natural, organic consequence of self-care.

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Rebecca Bloomwood is a sweet and charming New York City girl who has a tiny, little problem that is rapidly turning into a big problem: she's hopelessly addicted to shopping and drowning in a sea of debt. While Rebecca has dreams of working for a top fashion magazine, she can't quite get her foot in the door -- that is, until she snags a job as an advice columnist for a new financial magazine published by the same company. Overnight, her column becomes hugely popular, turning her into an overnight celebrity, but when her compulsive shopping and growing debt issues threaten to destroy her love life and derail her career, she struggles to keep it all from spiraling out of control--and is ultimately forced to reevaluate what's really important in life.

Starring Isla Fisher, Hugh Dancy, Joan Cusack, John Goodman, John Lithgrow. Directed by P.J. Hogan. Shown last February 13, 2009 nationwide.
